Adding images
Want to add an image to your blog? You have two basic options.
- Upload it from your computer.
- If the image isn’t already on your computer but somewhere online, right-click on the image and select “Save Image As”. Save the image somewhere on your computer.
- Grab the image’s URL online.
Personally, I always go with the former route. Why? There’s no guarantee the image will remain hosted at the site in question; the owner, after all, could decide to delete or move it.
In any case, I’ll show you both ways.
Adding an uploaded image
- Once in your admin, go to the “Write” tab.
- Click on “Post”.
- Click on the sun icon (located directly to the right of the words “Add Media” on the upper-right hand side of the text box).
- A pop-up box will appear. Click on “Choose files to upload”.
- Another pop-up – this one your PC file manager – will appear. Choose the image you want in your post.
- Once the file has uploaded, scroll down and choose the particular options you want. Click on “Insert into Post”.
Adding an image via URL
- Find an image online and copy its URL.
- Once in your admin, go to the “Write” tab.
- Click on “Post”.
- On your toolbar, click on the “Edit/Insert image” icon (represented by a tree).
- Paste the URL in the “Image URL” section.
- Hit “Insert”.
As always, here’s a video tutorial for those of you who learn better with visuals:
